Welcome to the Governor's Commission on the Humane Treatment of Animals' website. This website is the product of the last two and the current Commission to address issues concerning the humane treatment of animals in the state of New Hampshire.
The website contains information and links to public and private programs, companies, and individuals that address the humane treatment of animals in both in New Hampshire and nationally. It also contains news events, legislation, and important contact information pertaining to animal cruelty investigation and prosecution.
To report Animal Cruelty: If you are aware of an animal cruelty or neglect situation where the animal's life is in immediate danger, contact the police department of the town where the animal is located. For nonlife threatening situations and in situations where you might have questions, please see FAQs.

2024 NH Kid Governor Ellie Lively Attends May Meeting
Ellie Lively, 2024 NH Kid Governor, attended the May Commission Meeting. Ellie explained how she wanted to raise awareness of and decrease animal abuse. Her three-point platform includes conducting food and supply drives in NH schools, creating an awareness campaign using flyers and a video, and working with animal shelters to create volunteer programs for fifth graders.
